Day Two & Three

Today, we went shopping!!  Well, first to the dentist and then shopping!
The girls much prefered shopping over the dentist. The dentist didn't have the best of news, but we're going to get through Christmas first and see how it goes. Alona has major fears from prior dental visits in Ukraine so we have to tread lightly.

Shopping went well. Eliza asks for nothing. Alona wanted everything!!! Eliza is happy with a sweatshirt and socks and Alona was excited about anything with glitter, heels or lace! :)

This is what Daddy does most of his day...

He is so great with Eliza. His humor translates well. She knows when he's teasing and says in a very put out way, "Pa-Pa!"  (like, "how could you!?")

We've had balloon games...

and pillow fights...

And a lovely visit with some new friends who have adopted a boy from Ukraine recently. They came over for a very casual dinner and time of fellowship and the girls loved talking with Vova in their native tongue!

Paige, Connor & Jake enjoyed entertaining his sisters with anything and everything they were willing to listen to :)

Google-Translate is our friend.
We would be lost with out our phone apps and iPads!
We are constantly talking via Google-translate.
Steve is very good about having Eliza learn & repeat English words.

One of the blessing to having a "big sister" in the house...

Tired girl!

Video games also cross language barriers very well.
Go figure!

This is the lovely vase the girls brought to us from Ukraine!

The kids could not have been more excited for the snow to fall. It wasn't much, but oh! did it excite!!

And once again, life is way more fun when Daddy comes out to play!!

Making friendship bracelets...

Geography Lesson...

Christmas crafts...

Alona NEVER misses the chance to be photographed with a man :)
She loves having her picture taken!

We're all exhausted from the new, from the language adjustment, from the food stress, but all in all things are going well.  As long as we keep them busy, they seem to be happy.
