Camping & Connor's Birthday

Last year, the boys went camping.
This year they invited the girls.
(Apparently, they needed someone to cook & clean!)

Our campsite was extremely remote.

But, VERY beautiful!

The kids were a big help putting up the tent!

We wasted no time settling in!

S'mores! YUM!

And Oh, the dirty children!!

You can take the boy out of the gym, BUT
You can't take the gym out of the boy!

Sleeping Snuggley!

Hot Chocolate in the morning to warm those insides.

Coffee for the grown-ups!

Our morning view...

Paige worked hard and long to make her own shelter...

Connor was our resident wood chopper!

Taco's in a bag!

A little swimming in the lake...

Or bug catching/watching  for some!

Kayaking ...

Rope swinging into the water...

Paige helping make foil dinners...

Uncle Gary would be SO proud!

Oops!

Roasted marshmallow covered strawberries! YUM!

Jake, accidently left his fishing pole in the water over night and he awoke to ...
A FISH!

He told Mommy, "It was THIS big!"  :)

Birthday Morning and Connor has Campfire Eclair for breakfast!

Jake gave Con Tabasco Sauce for a birthday present.
(Apparently, Connor didn't find it as funny!)

Chocolate Eclair made over the fire!

Birthday Lunch...

His new FlipSpot Sweatshirt...

Paige pulled a prank on Daddy with a gummy worm.
She had him close his eyes before feeding it to him and he pretty much freaked out thinking it was real.
Chalk one up for Paigey. She can play his games!

Lake Huron

Flying the kite...

Playing in the water...

More kite flying...

More beach fun...

Lots of digging...

It was a fun trip! Filled with lots of fun, quiet memories,
just being together and enjoy God's incredible creation to its fullest.

Right before leaving we had a lesson in using a fire extinguisher.
After seeing a house burn down in a neighborhood across the street the week before,
this was a planned, yet useful lesson.
