2010 Kindy Graduation

Thursday was another historic day in the Posey family, as we prepared for and attended Jake's Kindergarten Graduation. Paigey & I made edible graduation caps in honor of the occasion.

At the 2:00 Graduation, Paigey had a great time with all her Blue Bubble friends, who also all had big brother graduating (makes for fabulous play dates!!!) As you can see they were just giddy to be together. (Caitlin, Paigey, Pamela, and Kate) Can you say Trouble with a capital T and Silly with a capital S. They were squeaking and squealing and giggling like only little girls could get away with!
The two Kindy classes took us through their kindergarten journey using the letters A through Z and Jake's part included the reciting of Proverbs 3:6 "In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." (He did a great job! No fear of the mic!)

Here is Jake with his teacher, Mrs. Heidi Nichols

Uncle Josh came and surprised Jake, which made for a good laugh when Jake marched in with his classmates (to Pomp and Circumstance) and spotted Uncle Josh in the crowd. He lit up like a spark plug and waved enthusiastically...making Uncle Josh's effort to get there worth while!

Unfortunately, Steve was unable to attend the Graduation due to unstoppable circumstances with work, but we look forward to showing him the video and eating more grad caps with Daddy when things settle down some.

Mommy so proud with her "little"Buddy!

With Grammy & Papa

Flash forward to 2022, I see his photo happening again!!

What would a Graduation be without a dinner party following? Grammy & Papa joined us afterwards for a fun afternoon and evening of dinner and a yummy cookie treat!

It's hard to see, but here Connor is donning one of the chocolate caps on his head.
(Such a Connor thing to do!)

And of course, Puppy (& hippo) joined in the fun!

Jake is very ready to move into first grade. Mommy's not so sure she's ready to have him in a full day of school, but there's no doubt he will love it and excel. He is a very bright student. "Best in his class" as described by his teacher. He loves Jesus enthusiastically, is extremely creative and even at age 7 can spend all afternoon in the sand box!!! If Kindergarten truly lays the foundation for the rest of schooling, Jake has a great future ahead of him. God has been so good and we feel so blessed by Oakland Christian School, by Mrs. Nichols and by our sweet, sweet Jake. Congratulations, Buddy!!

Later Gator's

On Tuesday of this week, we hosted Connor's class of 8 along with teachers and parents in our home for their end of the year class party. The Jr. Kindy class is know at school as the Green Gators! They are the oldest class in Little Lancer University and very looked up to among the littlest of preschoolers beneath them...the Big Blue Bubbles (Paige's class) and the Rockin' Red Racers.

We went with the Green Gator theme for the party!
Below are the cupcakes that Connor and I made to look like a Gator.

His teeth are made out of marshmellow and his eyes are just tipped cupcakes.

Taking turns for lots of fun on the super-fun slip & slide!!

Connor's teacher, Mrs. Prantera opening her, much appreciated, gift!!

Connor diligently set up the table with spots for all eight of his friends!!
These kids are all so close and adore each other, they didn't mind being smushed together at the little picnic table.

It was a great year, Connor is reading and loves school. He's made fabulous friends and is a true leader and muse among his classmates. He continues to learn by leaps and bounds from his older brother and plays amazingly well with his younger sister. He is our informant, our entertainer and our energizer! Life would truly be dull with out him. He is super excited to start kindergarten in the Fall. He said, "Later, Gators! and Hello Kindy, Here we come!!!!"

Cousins Weekend

This weekend we had the distinct privilege of hosting 5 of our 7 cousins from the Posey side of our family in home!! What a fabulous time we all had together!! The day started with a visit to see Connor & Paigey in their LLU (Little Lancer University) Trike-a-thon for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Paigey thoroughly enjoyed riding her two wheeler all around with her friends!!

Afterwards their teacher thanked them for their great riding and for all the money they collected on behalf of St. Jude's for the children.

Back home the cousins all enjoyed a "picnic" of juice and freshly baked cookies that the girls made. It was our first sunny day in over a week and everyone was thrilled to be able to be outside having fun!

The kids had a ball doing a "homemade" obstacle course in the back yard.
First stop was to ride the car down the hill to the sand box. The older kids laid on top of the roof.

After a creation in the sand box they had to use a soccer ball to knock down some "bowling pin" jugs. (This was harder than it looked!)

There was a golf spot. (Macy)

A wheel barrel push. (Jake)

A soccer shot. (Macy)

A sand box dig. (Jake)

A balance beam. (Connor)

A hot lava pit jump! (Zak)

And victory of accomplishment! (Macy)

Jake shows off his fireman skills.

Zak and Willow put on an acrobatic show for us.

Their skills and creativity were amazing
(and are now being repeated by their youngest cousin who watched it awe!)

Willow doing a back bend on the swing!!

Ta-da!!

Good thing we have a big sandbox!! They were all in it...and working hard.
Did I mention how well they all played together!??

Meals were full of laughing and chatter.
It was precious to hear the conversations and the giggles.

Note to self: While everyone did love Tacos...it may not have been the best meal for such a large group in terms of clean up. Wriggley however, was very thankful and everyone pitched in to clean up.
A little kite flying.

A little movie watching.
(Chloe, Jared, Connor, Jake, Willow and Zak)

And a little rest for the little ones!
Paigey finally got her "someone" to sleep in her room with her.
(She's been sad lately that Jake & Con have "someone", Mommy & Daddy have a "someone," but she doesn't have a "someone" in her room. She LOVED having Macy share her room with her and she was already asking for her return the very night she left.

A little girl time fun...

More creative play and team work!

Two of the silliest doing what they do best!

All the younger ones gathered around while Chloe read Library books out loud to them. They were totally engaged and enamored by her and her stories. She was a gem!

Chloe was willing to try all of Uncle Steve's fun toys...RipStick...

Happy Girl!

The Carve Board...

Bike riding... (Willow)

Scooter (Zak)

Keeping an eye on everyone ... (Wriggley)

Rollarblading... (Paigey)

Macy really wanted to ride in Uncle Steve's big truck! She was very excited when he obliged!!

I wouldn't call them "Kissing Cousins" but they are buds...no doubt.

The two littlest cuties of the group!!

We had a great time!! We missed Nate & Erica, but I'm sure their Friday and Saturday fun was much more appropriate for teens!
