July 4th at Mullet Lake-Part 1

The last couple of years we have spent both Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends at Mullet Lake helping Great-Grandpa Posey open and close his home up there.  These have become cherished memories for our family.  This year just the boys went up to help Grandpa open and in an effort to enjoy the lake with better weather we decide to go up for the forth of July, too! And the decision did not disappoint!  We had an amazing time!

Lots of fishing

Lots of hanging out in the water

Several boat rides

Great visits with Great-Aunt Bonnie

Some tubing...

Paige being Paige-
brave, daring, and crazy-silly!

Connor being Connor-
suave, cool and oh, so grown-up (with a lot of silly!)

We did, lots of  Kayaking

A little memory-making!

Jake being Jake!
Love this face!

Paigey on her own accord decided to dicect and crayfish with a pocket knife!

Nothing disgusts this girl!
She'll make a great doctor!

There is no trade for the wealth of knowledge and stories and history we receive from spending time with Great-grandpa. He is truly a treasure!

Look at that long hair!
(Only took SIX years!)

Nothing like watching this Daddy-daughter relationship.

They adore each other.

Enjoying an evening on the water.

All kinds of fun on the tree swing!

This year the back cottage was "under construction" so we stayed at a hotel in town, but we truly enjoyed coming in each day and spending our time with Great Aunt Bonnie and Great-Grandpa!

Jake is always surprising Great Grandpa with things he's read.
It's fun to hear their discussion and all that Grandpa can add to Jake's learning.

Chippy returns every summer! He loves Great-Grandpa and has no fear of humans.
The kids can feed him right out of their hands!

Paigey ADORES Great-Grandpa!

Great Grandpa got a kick out of Connor's gymnastics skills.

Our whole gang with Great-Grandpa

Aunt Bonnie came to Mullet Lake to stay with Great Grandpa for the entire summer.
What a blessing!  They are evidence that no matter what you're always
"Daddy's Girl."

We truly enjoyed visiting Mullet Lake in the warmer weather and being able to play more in between projects.  It was a great time of summer memories.
