Backyard Bible Club

At the end of July we hosted our second annual Backyard Bible Club.
We didn't have as good of attendance this year as we did last year, but we still had a great time and made the most of the opportunity.

We heard that many families had other obligations that kept them from coming though they had wanted to and we are now known to many as "The Bible Club Family."  Guess, that's not such a bad way to be referred to :)

One of the days it was just our family in attendance and the kids asked if we could have
Show & Tell :)

Our theme this year was The 10 Commandments

It was different that we had anticipated, but there were a lot of great lessons and our faithfulness regardless of numbers was a testimony to those that came and to those who heard about it over the following days. God is in control.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Jake had an incredible season play for the Oriols this summer!  His best friend Lucas Brumm encouraged him to join the team and with Luc's dad, Matt at the coach, we couldn't have asked for a better set-up.  Jake took to baseball like a true champ and we all enjoyed.  He got a home run in his first game!!

Jake had a huge fan club! One of his favorites were
Aunt Lisa & Uncle Josh!

Some innings were slow...

But, for his first four games he was batting 1000!

Aunt Lisa came to several games!
(which was appreciated by more than just Jake!)

Then there was THE game...the one that he saved the day...
made the play of the season.

He made the outfield catch that was the third out and play of the season.
(Keep in mind this is 3rd grade ball...catches are made like this every day!!)

We were all proud, but seeing how excited Jake was after that play was a joy all it's own!

Coming in from the field, Luc was super proud of Jake.

There were high fives all around and a hug from Coach Brumm.

Grammy & Papa came out and we had a picnic dinner
on a beautiful summer night while watching the game.

Our little Slugger ...

and his one of his best buddies...

Great Season, boys!
