We spent the week prior to the Presidential Election learning all about our President's job and how our voting system in America works. We learned about the Electoral College and that our state of Michigan get 17 votes.
This was our Election wall in the school room.
They wrote about what things they think make a good President.
They learned about the how each President makes over the Oval Office with their own pictures, statues and inspirations. Then they wrote about what the White House would look like if THEY lived in the White House.
The next day we discussed the role of the President and all of his duties and responsibilities.
The kids then shared what THEY would do if they were President.
Paige would cancel school.
Jake would give much funding to pet stores and shut down evolutionists
and Connor would respect his citizens and help the military.
Then came election day...
There was a short line this year!
They checked in with their ID cards and filled in their ballots with the name and grade.
Then they went to the vote booth and privately voted for their favorite candadite.
They put their ballots in the box.
And then got their voting sticker.
Oh, wait! There are new voters in line!
(Apparently voting was fun!)
The next morning, we tallied the results.
Sadly the household vote did not eqate to the Nation's vote, but
we talked about that as well.
We looked up verses that assured us that God is in control
even when the results aren't what we would like.
(Lots of life lessons here!)
