Another Rock Star in the Making

Friday night was the boys Christmas Concert for school. It was a flash to the past featuring songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's!! Of course, all the parents LOVED it! :) When Jake came home a few weeks back announcing that he was chosen to do "air guitar" I knew right away she had type casted...and that she made a great choice!! The below video is of our Miami Vice Rock Star at his finest. What it also funny is that in the bottom right corner you can also catch a glimpse of Connor following his brother's lead.

Do our kids know how to jam or what!?

Kindy Thanksgiving Feast

I have been horrible about posting this Fall. I've just had no time for these little extras. But, I would really like to try to be better and in an effort to "start somewhere" I'm going to just start with the most recent and try to work my way back as I am able.

There is no question that Connor is our little Chef! He loves to be in the kitchen and loves to create. Here he is making Pilgrim Hats for his classmates at school.

Connor's Kindergarten Class hosted a Thanksgiving Feast this morning.

These moments of one on one time, are just some of my favorite days as a Mom!

Here is a video clip of the class reciting Psalm 100. Apparently Connor is the only one who learned the motions :)

Rock Star Witness

Jake, Con& Paige saw one half time show of a football game...I believe it was Thanksgiving Day of 2009. And ever since then they have been incredible rock stars. They even make up their own lyrics as evidenced here by Paige. And in the parts where you're wondering what on earth she's saying...well, don't worry, I'm thinking she's not sure of what she's saying either. But God bless this little rock star who's preaching His truths to all who will listen!

Teacher in the House

Jake told me tonight that he wants to be a teacher when he grows up. When I inquired with him about why, he told me that he wanted to share with kids all the great things he is learning!! My heart was touched by his excitement. He was readimg a science-type book at the time. It's amazing to see that even at 7 he has a genuine love for learning. He makes his Papa proud (and his Mommy & Daddy too!)

I praise God for Jake's amazing mind and for his interest not only in the things he can read about in books, but in his love for God and all that He has created. He's really made that connection of God being the sole reason for all things and our sole purpose in life...to bring HIM glory in all we do. He's a fabulous teacher to his little brother and sister and to his friends.

In fact, he had a play date last week, and the Mom & Dad told me that they wanted to hire Jake to come over and play regularly because their son was actually playing board games, and cutting paper! I guess, prior to his visit the little boy told his Mom she HAD to put up a craft table because "Jake love to create cool things!" What a blessing to hear that our little artist is already making a positive influence on how his friends want to spend their time.

To God be the Glory!

First Day of School 2010

August 23rd brought a screeching halt to summer as the kids loaded up their back packs donned their uniforms (the boys) and headed back to school. There are big changes this year as Jake heads to first grade and goes to school all day for the first time... Connor begins Kindergarten...and Paigey attends Junior Kindergarten going 5 mornings a week!

Connor, in front of the desperately in need of bush trimming, sign for Oakland Christian School.
(they're saving it for a Servathon project!)

Jake being, oh so cool, at his desk...

Another big change this year is the addition of a job for Mommy! I was asked to take on a part time job at the school to be an Assistant to the Events & Development Coordinator. I wasn't looking for a job and as a result took nearly a month to seek God for whether or not to take it. But, in the end we just felt it was the right thing to do.

The job is perfect for me! I LOVE it!! My first big project is assisting with our all school Servathon! It's been an answer to prayers I've been praying for the last year. Prayers that had nothing to do with getting a job, but everything to do with opening my heart and it has opened up doors for and answered things in my heart I never realized were part of God's plan. It's truly been amazing and I feel blessed to be a part of this school and thankful for God's provision for us to send our kids here.

He got a new Piston's jersey-

Had a lego cake-

A couple of Paigey's friends attended his party since their brothers were here and school orientation was that morning...so this is the girls table.

And the best gift August 2oth ever gave us!!!

Bonus was that the Cider Mill opened on Con's b-day so he celebrated with some donuts & cider.

Then more cards, gifts, and dinner at Red Robin...

Happy Birthday, Little Man. You are truly the love of our lives!

Malone Girl Play Dates

Once a week through out the summer we got together with our friends the Malone's. The kids are all similar ages and have a great time together. Here are a few pics of our summer fun.

Christina and me at DTE (with Steve & Jerry)
for a Summer Concert.

At the pool...

At the lake...

And everything in between. We caught bugs, frogs, went on hikes, swam, tubed, colored, made bracelets, collected shells and just plain had a LOT of fun!
