Hoseback Riding

I didn't know this before we came, but we are staying in Marion Country, which is one of the main Thoroughbred Centers of the world!  Most all of our adventures (except for visiting Aunt Pat) are about an hour & a half to two hours away.  And along the way we see some of the most gorgeous horse farm/ranches.  So, all that to say we decided we should go horseback riding!

Connor made friends quickly...

Learning the rules of the trade

Connor rode a blind horse, named Misty. Yes! She was blind. Connor learned to watch the trail and speak commands for her to know when to step over logs or prepare for steep terrine.

He did an amazing job! And he & Misty became fast friends.

Apparently Alapalooza horses are commonly blind as they reach their teen year. Because of their white coat and the sun, something happens to restrict their sight.

Jake rode Bones and he was the leader of our pack.

Paige rode Honey!
It was love at first sight!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful night to ride. The sky was blue and the temperature was perfect.  We couldn't help but praise the Lord as we trotted the trail!

This is the photographer and her horse! :)

Our little equestrian

The whole gang!

Connor took his care for Misty very seriously and stayed with her long after the ride.

Paige drew a horse in the Trail Guest book
and signed her name.

Then she fed Honey an apple.

Who knew horse drank Pepsi!
(I won't even tell you what the trainer did after that!)

Saying good-bye~

It was a fun evening. The kids begged for a horse the whole way home.
