Nature Walk-Science

It's Friday and today we had another Science Day with our friend Carly Allen.

We started the day off with baking a little treat of Agave Bars for our lunch dessert.

Everyone contributed to the putting together of these yummy bars.

Carly got two new bunnies, Amelia & Caden.
So next we went out to meet & play with them.

Everyone fell in love quite quickly.

With the nice weather we're having, we've decided to take a break from our
anatomy studies and break into some nature studies for the summer season.
We launched our study with a nature walk, picking up all kinds of natural treasures from the Allen's yard.

After our nature hike, we had a lunch picnic on the deck.

It was  a great day!
And a great start to our summer nature study!

Working Our Way Through Exodus

Today we read in Exodus 17 about Aaron and Hur and how they came along side of Moses and held up his arms when they grew tired and the Israelites were fighting against Amalekites.

We talked about how we can/should come along side each other and support one another and discussed  several different ways we can do that.

I think we will revisit this lesson often as we journey through this life
of being brothers and sister.

We need to remember to have each other's back
and to be each other's biggest fans and greatest help

Decking the Halls

Our Thanksgiving guests were barely gone before the kids started begging to decorate.
Some took it very seriously.

Other's set up in speed round fashion in order to get on to playing with new toys!

While others skipped decorating and used the tree as a turtle shell :)

The kids exchanged gifts with Grandpa Posey and Grandma Carol while they were in town for Thanksgiving. Carol is a fabulous gifter and all three of the kids LOVED their gifts.

Here Jake (and helpers) are setting up his Venus Fly Trap.

Paige is prepping to use her new COTTON CANDY machine!!

Everything is ALWAYS interrupted by craziness and fun!
Paige is Queen of "Let's Get the Party On!" so add Daddy to the mix and giggles and squeal are a normal occurance at our house!  Daddy is well loved! :)

Connor had the distinct honor of putting up the start this year!

Paige is enamored with the tree. She has made more forts and played more interacting play with Barbies & ornaments than I even remember her doing as a toddler. When in doubt...she's by the tree!

Making Advent wreaths...

The end result...

Sewing has been the activity of choice lately. Jake is making a Zebra pillow and it is AMAZING!!
I don't have a shot of the end product, but will be sure to post one soon, because it's pretty cool!

Here we have Fisher Price meeting Willow Tree.
I loved the imagery here and come help but think,
"O Come Let Us Adore Him!"

More evidence of my previous mentioned fascination with playing by the tree!

Connor's gym had a little craft fair and we found these little Nesting Doll clippies!  So cute!

Grammar at It's Finest

Sometimes, it's just fun to change things up a bit and have a little fun with school.
So this week, as we talked about "Titles" for our Grammar lesson, we decided to have a Tea Party to practice properly addressing those in respected positions and positions of authority.

Captain Jake

Master Connor

Her Royal Highness, Paige

I couldn't pass up this precious shot of little toes in Mommy heels.

Our party table.

Tea Time.

Who says school is boring!?
